A while back the editor of the national Saab magazine, Nines, read my Oppo article and the 2018 Talimena Drive and requested to publish it. This was somewhat surprising as that article... wasn’t my best work. I gave him an improved copy instead and yesterday I got back from vacation and was met with a copy of the magazine! Neato!

Nice! Is he an Opponaut, or did he come across your original article some other way?

The latter. I shared the oppo link to the Facebook group that “organized” the event.

Ah, gotcha. Wonder if you could get some similar love from Landy groups (or are they all too “high brow” for your adventures ? Ha!).

Yeah I don’t get much traction (lulz) with them . Most of the D2 FB group people are lifted, lightbar, roof rack people. Also not sure what sort of publications they do, if any. Some of the vendors might get in on the action... except my Disco is like.... 100% stock so... not much for them to show off there. (Though Lucky8 did do me a solid on the headgasket rebuild. )
At the end of the day I’m just happy to have someone like my stuff enough to publish it haha

Always fun to see your name in print (even if it’s just a letter you wrote in response to a car mag’s article). Here’s something from the 15 minutes I was an RFD author: http://www.rightfootdown.com/cars/thoughts/the-future-of-automotive-freedom/
